Cycling the Capital City to the Sea Trail: North Florida Eco-Adventure
July 23rd, 2015 by Red Hills
The popular St. Marks Trail is a 16 mile multiuse trail that connects Tallahassee to the Forgotten Coast town of St. Marks. In the coming years, cyclists will be able to continue their adventure beyond the trail, as it becomes part of the larger Capital City to the Sea Trail. Existing trails such as the St. Marks, the Ochlockonee Bay Trail, and the Trout Pond Trail will be connected into a network with over 120 miles of multiuse trail that lets cyclists enjoy their ride off of roadways. Project Managers Jon Sewell and Jack Kostrzewa peddle along segments of the trail and help fill in the blanks of a project that will take over a decade to complete. Learn more here.
Towns and parks connected by the eventual trail are the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, St. Marks, Wakulla Springs, Panacea, Mashes Sands, Sopchoppy, and Tallahassee.
